A Symphony of Matter, Life & Consciousness: a Transcendental journey

In the ancient tapestry of existence, evolution is not merely a biological process but a transcendental journey—from the material to the human order—each stage serving as the foundation for the next.

At the very base lies the Material Order (पदार्थ अवस्था), where the fundamental elements undergo continuous processes of decomposition and composition. In this realm, consciousness is nascent, unrefined—a raw canvas waiting to be transformed.

As the material order reaches its zenith, it welcomes the Plant Order (प्राण अवस्था), a seed-differentiated realm where sunlight and minerals converge to fuel life. Here, plants renew themselves constantly, storing energy as fruits and vegetables. This dynamic process is nature’s first step towards capturing and channelling consciousness.

Building upon the stability of matter and the vitality of plants, the Animal Order (जीव अवस्था) emerges. This stage marks the entry of consciousness into living beings, who are now subject to primal forces— (appetite) आहार, (fear) भय, (procreation) मैथुन, and (sleep) निद्रा.

Chemical and physiological changes abound, set the stage for the final evolution: the Human Order (जीवन अवस्था).

dharmo hi teṣāmadhiko viśeṣa:
dharmeṇa hīnāḥ paśubhiḥ samānāḥ

Eating, sleeping, fear, and sex — these behaviours are common to both humans and animals. It is Dharma that is the unique quality of human beings that makes us human. Without Dharma, we are no different from the animals.

|| Mahabharat, Shantiparva, 294.29 ||

Although the atom, as in gold, reaches a state of material stability, human existence still remains fluid, perpetually in search of its true nature.

The attainment of humanness is realising the ultimate truth— आत्मा ज्ञान —wherein every human being carries the seed potential to become a realised, wise being (विज्ञानी) and lead a life based on Dharma.

Dharma here means awakening to one’s true nature and thereby contributing to one’s surroundings and the other 3 orders (material, plant and animal order) towards a harmonious co-existence. To elevate co-travellers at all levels of existence. To lead a contribution life, not a competitive and consumeristic one.

Dharma is when all orders are in a state of homeostasis. As the wise rightly say — the one who realises the TRUTH — Dharma is the expression of his life in society.

Dharma can be compared to a moving wheel where the centre is held always in Satya, Nitya, Bodha.

Only when the centre is held and still can the spokes be aligned and the movement is bound to be effortless and harmonious.

That is the significance of the Dharma Chakra which is always in motion yet always aligned to the centre.

In our current age, technology and advanced gadgets offer unprecedented tools to aid the journey of self-realisation.

The body, though gross, is a vessel to experience the grandeur (वैभव) of consciousness.

Realising one’s true nature not only stabilises the individual but also serves as a catalyst for the evolution of all other orders and further builds a society based on value, ethics rather than just material development.

When every human becomes stable in his humanness, the society that emerges is one of wholistic wisdom (Akhanda) and order (व्यवस्था).

This transformation is achieved through a profound understanding of Self (समझदारी), integrity with oneself (ईमानदारी) & sense of responsibility towards one’s existence (जिम्मेदारी), thereby being a contributor (भागीदार) rather than a mere (consumer) खरीदार as we are today.

Material prosperity is harmoniously balanced with higher wisdom & virtue, paving the way for a community where true happiness (सुख) and true harmony prevail.

Just as the entire cosmos can be contained within a mustard seed—a concept celebrated in the Yoga Sutras—so too can the potential of human realization be found within the seemingly mundane.

The universe, governed by the laws of all sciences man may have known — mirrors the deep order that underlies all creation.

Prayers and spiritual practices, found in our spiritual texts, scriptures, such as chanting sacred mantras, yantras (geometrical patterns), are tools to dissolve the barriers imposed by our limited perceptions, allowing us to experience our boundless nature.

In this grand design, the external world is a reflection of our internal harmony. The rhythms of nature—captured in the vibrant energy of plants, the motion of animals, and the dynamic potential of humans—are expressions of a singular, boundless consciousness. The transcendental journey from matter to mind is a testament to our capacity for evolution, a call to break free from the confines of duality and embrace the infinite.

Let us honour this cosmic dance of creation, where every element, every vibration, and every breath is an invitation to evolve. In realising our true nature, we not only uplift ourselves but also contribute to the collective harmony of all existence.

ARISE, AWAKE, STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS ACHIEVED!!
